I hope we see her and all the villains soon!

BNHA thoughts, on Dabi-is-Touya, which is pretty clear to the audience already. You mentioned the reveal being for character impact instead. Why do I feel like it’ll be Rei who finds out first? Either Dabi reveals his identity to Rei while he is there: the “better” more positive reveal, because then they can actually talk about this. OR Rei sees a suspect photo of Dabi on tv or something and recognizes him. The “bad” reveal (psychologically) because Rei gets burdened with this knowledge, alone.
Oh dear. I hadn’t even thought of that–I was thinking Endeavor or Shouto more likely, but that would be absolutely devastating. I do want to find out Touya and Rei’s relationship too, and I hope Shouto gives us more flashbacks or memories in this fight. Pleeeeeeeeeeease Horikoshi lol. This arc feels like filler in a lot of ways, so I’d like to get more background there. 😛
(funny note: last night I dreamed Momo found out somehow and had to break it to Shouto, which was cool. Obvs not what will happen, but good fuel for Todomomo feels)
TG thoughts on how Hsaiko is implied to be canon, or at least their crush is mutual. It’s well established how Hsiao feels about Saiko, and talking about how cute Saiko’s “peach fuzz” looks, only a few ways Hsiao can know that. Saiko does some of this too, though, calling Hsiao “sexy” or “her thighs are so soft”. There’s an omake in which Saiko climbs into Hsiao’s bed to sleep. This being Saiko, she plays innocent, but this came immediately after saying that Hsiao’s sleeping face is beautiful.
Yes, I think it was subtextually hinted!!! I wish Ishida had gone further with it, but I do like what we did get.
TG Humor. I’m sure someone has made this terrible joke about Amon before, but here goes: When Amon is in hiding and sneaking around, he’s trying to remain “Amonymous”.

I LOVE PUNS
To the Anon ranting at you: Turn. Anon. Off. COWARD.
They sent me two I didn’t even publish *rolls eyes*
After reading some Anon asks about Urie’s sense of smell, I was reminded of something that has bugged me for a while. Saiko smelled human blood on Mutsuki and figured out what he’d been doing. Why didn’t Urie detect human blood on Mucchy? Considering that Urie can smell the difference between menstrual blood and blood from a wound. The only things I can think of are willful blindness for Urie OR Saiko’s nose being that much better.
Yeah, I think it was willful blindness from Urie! That’s always been my assumption, because in the scene where Saiko notices, Urie is too busy thinking about how nice Mutsuki looks in the coat.
Noragami, thoughts about recent developments. First. Kazuma is acting like Jealous Phase Nora. Kazuma PLEASE stop. The last time Kazuma was framed in such a menacing way, it was when he tried to use a truth spell on Yukine. Bishamon was there to call him out on this, which temporarily prevented any further slippage from him. His companion is Yato this time, which is the worst possible combo, because their respective issues amplify each other. Those two together are a perfect disaster.
Yupppp. I’m strongly expecting disaster in the future chapters for everyone in the cast, quite possibly culminating in Father getting Yukine. Kazuma and Yato are really the Disaster Duo and whatever they attempt together is not gonna go well.
This has been stewing in my head ever since Post-Dragon Kaneki and the strange way his body works. I have a theory that what’s going on with Kurona is actually a “cruder” version of the Dragoneki transformation. Kaneki consumed a whole bunch of people who have the same kagune as him, and emerged with his biology altered from it. Kurona absorbed her twin sister, who not only has the same kagune, but the same DNA (Kurona and Nashiro are identical twins, right?) Her mutations are very Dragoneki-ish
Oooooooooh! I quite like this idea!
Something I noticed while re-reading the latest Noragami chapter. Nora mentions that she still has a name by Takemikazuchi. That’s really interesting in terms of foiling, because while Nora struggles to escape being only a tool, only a “role” to fulfill, Takemikazuchi struggles to reclaim his “role” as a lightning god, as part of himself, as a person. They have opposite struggles between “what” and “who” they are, Nora trying to retake the “who”, Takemikazuchi trying to retake the “what”.
Ooooh. I think this is a really cool foil–thanks for bringing it up! Yeah, I’m interested to see how that gets explored. There’s definitely a theme there in terms of the role people play and yet the hurt that reducing them to said role causes, or defining yourself by a role.
Takemikazuchi’s being blamed for his past life also plays into the theme of redemption in both Yato’s arc and in Nora’s arc, if that’s where Nora’s arc is headed and I think it pretty clearly is after the past chapter (though it won’t be without a giant pitfall I’m sure). Namely (heh), Nora’s past deeds are pretty bad, but so are Yato’s. But renouncing your past deeds or moving on from them doesn’t necessarily mean changing who you are at your core, and it doesn’t mean you’re inherently doomed. And I think that’s something Yukine reflects in his forgiveness of and kindness to Nora, and I think that’s beautiful
BNHA, thoughts on Himiko and character development. I’ve mentioned that Himiko has mostly zero self-control, and you have that meta on how her and Dabi share that attribute. She’ll need to gain some self-control in order to grow as a character (She’ll still be kinda unfiltered, that’s just part of who she is). I guess my ask is: Do you see canon set-up for Himiko growing some self-control?
That’s a great question!
I don’t know, but I hope so, because I presume Dabi and Shouto will reconcile, and Deku will at least try to save Shigaraki (and likely succeed). Ochaco’s negative foil is Himiko, so if she moves into a certain healthier direction with her love for Deku, it’s possible we’d see Himiko doing likewise if Horikoshi wants to take a shadow approach and integrate the characters with their negative foils.
I will say the moment that gives me the most hope for Himiko is her compassion for Twice. That was beautiful, and so we know that potential is there in her.
