I think i meant both, thank you for answering! About gabi and falco, i meant that the scene reflects on how isayama views jealousy as something that doesn’t have to be taken romantically and Mikasa’s jealousy in that scene is seen as exclusively romantic by the viewers but it could be sisterly as well in his opinion. I also think that like with historia he frames scenes to be (semi )romantic and then he puts a stop to them like he only baits a segment of his audience

You are welcome! And ah, I see. I definitely agree Mikasa is jealous romantically in that scene, but I also think it’s not necessarily to be taken to be rational + Eren is oblivious to everything around him except titans. I don’t personally think the framing with Historia and Eren is definitively romantic in any scene, though I do understand why some people see it that way–I think it’s not much different than the framing between Armin and Mikasa or Eren and Armin, etc. Close friends whose importance to each other cannot be denied, and therefore it’s ambiguous. Honestly I don’t think it’s wrong to interpret any of these dynamics either romantically or platonically (interpret it however it makes you happy!) but the framing isn’t, imo, crystal-clear romantic like it is for how Mikasa feels about Eren and how Historia and Ymir feel about each other.

How would you feel if isayama sisterzoned mikasa?I saw you compare falco and Gabi’s relationship to mikasa and Eren’s and in 109they pretend to be siblings and it reminded me of mikasa getting jealous over historia and eren, kaya deemed Gabi’s jealousy was for stealing her brother-her jealousy was sisterly.I never understood how mikasa felt for eren it can be maternal as much as it can be romantic, isayama said eren saw her as a mother figure but I’m pretty sure she took some steps back since

I’m sorry Anon, I’m not quite sure what you mean! Are you saying Eren might “sisterzone” Mikasa or that the writing is? I’ll answer both, if that’s okay.

The writing definitely is not “sisterzoning” Mikasa. Mikasa’s feelings I think are abundantly clear after chapter 50, in which it’s entirely possible she was moving to kiss him during the Clash of the Titans Arc. For the record, I didn’t ship it until chapter 50, though I did always think she had feelings for him.

I don’t think it’s a realistic reading to deny that Mikasa canonically has romantic feelings for Eren–it’s kind of blatant. Furthermore, Falco’s feelings for Gabi also clearly have a romantic component; pretending to be siblings doesn’t really change that and I just don’t think that situation is the best comparison as I doubt it’ll have further relevance.

As for how Eren sees Mikasa, that’s a different story all together, and Isayama pointing out Eren sees her as a motherly presence is not the same thing as saying Mikasa sees herself in a maternal sense (but there is some Oedipal-ness there). And it’s true–Mikasa is always trying to protect him as Carla asked her to do, but she would have done that anyways because she pretty clearly sees him as a major part of her identity, even to an unhealthy extent which I’ve talked about before, and that protectiveness is actually pushing Eren away in some sense. I do think the end goal of Mikasa’s arc has to be growing away from Eren; that being said, it’s not unrealistic to imagine that Eren would realize they could have had a happy future if, if, if.

If the circumstances of their world weren’t so cruel.

If they didn’t have to constantly fight to survive.

If Eren didn’t have a time limit on his lifespan.

If he’d decided not to go to Marlay.

Eren’s arc is tragic as hell. Even looking at the symbolism in the scene from chapter 50. Mikasa is essentially telling him she loves him, maybe wants to kiss him, and he focuses on I want to fight to save you. In doing that, he saves her, but he also loses that moment.

Eren will probably help save humanity even if Armin is the actual hero, but the cost is pretty clearly going to be his relationship with his loved ones–though I do absolutely think Mikasa and Armin will love Eren no matter how they disapprove of his actions, and I think he will love them regardless. But the closeness and the future, however short, they might have had, is probably gone.

And Mikasa knows this as she says here:

There isn’t a happy ending for them together like she’d have wanted, but she’s still clinging as we see in recent chapters wherein her clinging almost leads to her and Armin getting blown up.

To save the rest of her loved ones, Mikasa won’t be able to save Eren. I think that’s definitely where the story is going, but I do think it’s also realistic that Eren and Mikasa will have a moment wherein Eren acknowledges what could have been, and that he loves her, regardless of whether there is a romantic component.

I personally think there is likely to be (the set up is obvious, like with Touka and Kaneki in TG or Ochaco and Izuku in BNHA–it’s def a darker story with no hope for a happy ending for them, but main female character + main male character in this kind of story with a scene like chapter 50 that is clearly designed to put romance in the reader’s mind, is almost certainly intended to be romantic, plus we know Mikasa feels romantically). That being said, I also think it doesn’t actually matter whether or not Eren acknowledges romantic feelings for Mikasa. I just want him to acknowledge, and tell her, that he loves her and is grateful to her–because he does and is, regardless of whether that is familial or platonic or romantic, and the exact definition of that love doesn’t matter to the overall tragedy and beauty of their story. But acknowledging Mikasa’s personal romantic feelings would be a beautiful ending, imo, but that’s just my preference.

Part 2 for Goat’s little kids is here!

This one is can be consider as the ‘sequel’ for the Day 24. I also searched the meaning of ‘Prickly”, and informally, it means for someone who’s easily annoyed or offended. Well, considering what had happen, obviously all hell loose over…XD

For Inktober 2018 Challenges:

Day 25: “Prickly”

This scene is inspired by @hamliet-san’s story –”The (Mis)Adventure of Goat”. The scene is taken place before the main story happens (the 6 years gap after Chapter 24), and after Day 24 -”Chop”. After the scare of what Nozomi and Masanori had done, the daddies had no choice but to tell THE MOTHERS about the incident. Obviously, the MOMS became prickly easily with the said incident and decided to punish the kids strictly!

Eto pinched Nozomi’s face angrily, telling her that bullying Shiono is a big no-no as her daughter cried, saying sorry; Hairu hit Masanori’s head as a punishment, while the son crying while saying sorry. Ui had to apologize to both Kaneki and Arima for what had happened; Kaneki said it was OK as he and Arima comforted their terrified, crying sons. Yusa and Hirako, who were witnessing the scene, just stared hopelessly…

Come to think about it, between Arima and Eto, obviously the stern one is Eto right? I think when it comes to children, Arima is softer than Eto…XD

Ahhh! Yes, Eto is definitely the stern one and Nozomi keeps her on her toes! XD

How come tomura is all might mistake? D: is not Even his child or responsability

He’s not, at least not in the same sense as Touya/Dabi turning to the dark side of the quirk is absolutely Endeavor’s fault. It’s more of a foil situation than a direct parallel: the situations have comparative points, but also key differences.

Shigaraki is absolutely the result of Nana Shimura’s mistake in giving up her child to an orphanage because she was fearful for him–understandably so–but it was precisely that fear that put her grandchild at risk. And All Might knew about the boy and went along with it, which again, is not a terrible thing on his part since it was not really his place to do anything about it.

But because Nana put her son into the cracks of society, he died there, and Shigaraki was preyed on by All For One, despite desperately wanting someone to come and save him. Basically Shigaraki reveals the flaws in hero society that were further explored with Eri: people are still exploited, and people don’t always try to save the most vulnerable especially if it requires going against what society expects. It is absolutely not directly All Might’s fault, but as the willing symbol of hero society for many years, he put himself in a position where villains would blame him for the pitfalls of hero society… but villains, or at least Tomura, is just someone who wants to be saved as well. All Might does want to try to save him, and I am sure he will try, just as I do think Endeavor will try to save Touya.

TG thoughts on how Hsaiko is implied to be canon, or at least their crush is mutual. It’s well established how Hsiao feels about Saiko, and talking about how cute Saiko’s “peach fuzz” looks, only a few ways Hsiao can know that. Saiko does some of this too, though, calling Hsiao “sexy” or “her thighs are so soft”. There’s an omake in which Saiko climbs into Hsiao’s bed to sleep. This being Saiko, she plays innocent, but this came immediately after saying that Hsiao’s sleeping face is beautiful.

Yes, I think it was subtextually hinted!!! I wish Ishida had gone further with it, but I do like what we did get.

AAAAHHHHH!! I FELL ASLEEP!!

I really forgot to post this artwork last night, this week is very exhausting and next week will be the exam week!!

For this art, it will be in two parts; both on Day 24 and Day 25. Please enjoy this one first, and wait for the ‘sequel’. XD

For Inktober 2018 Challenges:

Day 24: “Chop”

This scene is inspired by @hamliet-san’s story –”The (Mis)Adventure of Goat”. The scene is taken place before the main story happens (the 6 years gap after Chapter 24).

Nozomi and Masanari wanted to play as witches for the upcoming Halloween, but they need some people to help them. So they asked Yuki and Shiono -Nozomi’s little brother, to help them. Unfortunately, they were the ‘witches’ ingredients’ and to make it worst, these two little rascals tied up the younger to be chop with a real knives!

Obviously the poor kids cried for help, and luckily the fathers -Kaneki, Ui and Arima came. However, when they saw what the kids were trying to do, all hell loose over…

The 2nd part will be done today…;)

AHH They totally would!!!!! I love it!!!

I just had a horrible idea. Since Shoto is Endeavor’s prized possession, with his hybrid quirk, and Touya would know this, Dabi might try to use the quirkless bullets on Shoto, as a way to get to Endeavor. He wouldn’t succeed, since Shoto is a main character But the effort counts

It’s possible but I don’t think it’s likely. I think him trying to use them on Endeavor is a lot more likely; Touya cares about his family besides his dad from what we know. I don’t think he’d target Shouto at least not at this point.

You know something you know what’s really important for a hero to have? It’s something that is always overlooked it’s not power or strength it’s empathy. it’s having empathy not to people but to villains as well but understanding why they became villains and why they do horrible things. It’s something that is always missing in Heros

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. This lol. Hawks, for example, doesn’t appear to have anyone, and I mean anyone, showing him empathy, and it’s probably going to drive him down a very dark path since he’s pretty literally playing with fire right now.

I know I don’t really say much about Deku, but I think his best development so far was him empathizing, to an extent at least, with Gentle and La Brava during their fight. I think that will be vital to defeating the villains going forward.
