I think Erwin got the most satisfying death because it was foreshadowed and Isayama confirmed that he had a funeral and Levi buried him. Ymir’s death is sort of resolved, she died by her own choice and Historia got her letter but I am open to her getting more closure since she is my favorite female character. Bertholdt’s character arc got stopped midway and he had one of the most horrendous deaths. He died surrounded by people who hated him and his comrades left him behind for dead.

Yeaaaaah. Bertolt’s arc wasn’t really successfully executed at all, and his death felt incredibly cruel, perhaps the most un-cathartic in the manga. I’d actually say Ymir’s was similarly poorly executed, but it is what it is. I hope memories can add depth to them.

I think it’s annoying how Erwin and Bertholdt don’t get a fraction of post mortem treatment like Sasha. I have such rotten luck with characters. Bertholdt, one of the most tragic characters ever, has almost no one who cares for him alive to mourn him. His father is dead, Ymir is dead and we’ll probably never get Reiner mourning him. I just want to see someone cares that he is dead, is that too much to ask?

I mean… yeah. I agree. Those three deaths–Erwin’s, Bertolt’s, and Ymir’s–I think have a lack of closure. I think Erwin’s death was at the very least satisfying in terms of his arc closing, but Bertolt’s wasn’t even that. But Erwin was still such an important character that the info dumps & timeskips directly following it are kind of poorly placed in terms of pacing. I do think we will get some kind of reflection on Erwin, especially as Levi takes focus again (and he almost certainly will). I hope Bertolt gets more of a reflection as well; he and Reiner were so close. And Ymir, obviously, with Porco and Historia.

5 Favs snk girls and why please

1) Historia Reiss. Her arc means so much to me. Her martyr complex, her lack of self-worth, her suicidal tendencies are all highly relatable. The scene in the cave is still one of my favorites, and I am deeply invested in her arc and how it turns out. Her relationship with Ymir is also one of the best lesbian representation examples I can think of.

2) Annie Leonhart. I love her kind heart masked by a life that hasn’t allowed her to be kind at all. She isolates herself, but she also reaches out and helps Eren train, saves Connie, protects Armin, etc. She cares deeply about people but has never been allowed to show it.

3) Mikasa Ackerman. Her arc is really lovely, and I’m looking forward to what seems to be set up for more Mikasa focus. Her comforting Gabi and saving her is exactly what she needs to be doing to overcome her flaw of clinging too hard to Eren.

4) Gabi Braun. I know the fandom hates her but in terms of pacing and overall direction, I genuinely think her arc is one of the best written ones in the entire story. She’s getting redemption right now I think. I love that she’s facing consequences for what she’s done to Sasha, but she’s also a child.

5) Ymir. Her story was so beautiful and her relationship with Historia inspiring. Her death still leaves me grumpy, but I do think that her memories will come into play for Historia’s sake via Porco.

Also, shoutout to Sasha. She’s amazing.

Not sure if you’ve answered something like this (you can just link me to that post if you don’t want to repeat what you already said) but assuming Dabi is Touya how do you think he views his family? We know how he views Enji but I’m wondering about the rest. Do you think he still cares for them and wouldn’t want to kill them? I want to say yes based on that part in the manga when he was talking about going crazy over thinking about the families of the people he’s killed. (1/2)

wanted to kidnap/kill him even though it would probably give away his
identity? There’s also the fact Shouto was on the kill list but Dabi
didn’t seem to care (even though I guess we don’t really know what he’s
thinking). I feel like we wouldn’t know until we’re put into Dabi’s

I have! See here and here. I agree with you. I don’t think Dabi hates his family. Shouto is probably the biggest question mark, because he might fear he’s Endeavor 2.0, but I do not think he’s looking to kill him like he is looking to kill Endeavor.

Since lots of other people are jumping on this prediction bandwagon. What do you think of the possibility of Eren killing Levi? I mean Levi’s job has always been to keep Eren under control and Eren’s currently heading right for him and Zeke.

I think it’s possible but I don’t think Eren would intentionally harm Levi. I do think Eren still respects and cares deeply about Levi, and if his devastation over Sasha’s death is any indication, he will not be trigger happy with Levi no matter what. That being said there are lots of elements outside of Eren’s control right now and a conflict is brewing. I hope not, though.

Why Sasha dead gets more shock in the manga than other characters

I think it was the first major death for the 104th since Shiganshina. Despite all the bloodshed in the first part of the manga, that all took place over a timeline of about three months for our cast! Then they had years of peace and relative safety, titans gone, making allies, etc. But during that time we know they grew closer to each other than they were before. To have that sense of safety destroyed and a new sense of loss–I imagine that’s why it’s hitting the characters hard, and the readers as well, since for both readers and the characters Sasha represented a kind of innocence, a finding happiness in the simplest of things (food), lightheartedness, etc. Now that’s gone… or is it? As Kaya reminded us, Sasha’s legacy lives on.
