BNHA ask. About the traitor being Kaminari or Hagakure. I’m always curious to know your thoughts and theories. Why one of those two? (If it’s Kaminari, things get interesting for Kyouka, since the two of them have so much shipping tease.)

Sure! I think those two have the most evidence against them (and I doubt the traitor will be anyone massively important, but it will probably be someone from the class for writing impact because writing-wise you’ll want it to be someone close enough so that the reader feels betrayal, but also not someone you’ve previously set up as a hero because that isn’t how BNHA works as a story lol–it’s just not full of “I didn’t see that coming!” moments which is not a bad thing).

I think @ CDCubed on twitter does a good job outlining the Hagakure evidence in this thread and here’s some on Kaminari.

I personally prefer Kaminari because of the angst it’d set up with Jirou, but I think the evidence and the writing around Hagakure makes her the strongest candidate for right now. Each 1A class members gets some kind of focus and a mini-arc (with Todoroki, Bakugou, and Deku getting long arcs and Iida and Uraraka getting a bit more focus than the rest) and Kaminari has arguably had some of his in the Hero Exam arc, but we know absolutely nothing about Hagakure. Plus, BNHA is again subtle as a flamethrower and the irony of having an invisible girl be a traitor is. Not remotely subtle at all. So I lean towards her.

It could of course be someone else as well! But those are the ones I think have the most evidence against them. I’m also hoping with the possibility of Shinsou joining the hero course and the question of whether a spot will open up + the focus on Hawks being a double agent last arc + it’s been 84 years we might get a reveal soon(ish). But we’ll see, I can see it waiting until the series hits it nadir eventually.

Oooh. I’m loving that Pale Fire chapter. You’ve captured Yukine and Nora’s love-hate dynamic really REALLY well, as well as Nora’s issues. Also Kazuma to Daikoku, about Yato: “/You/ have a sense of propriety, help me!” I just loved this line, because this is one of my friends, to the other, about me – I’m that person who needs to be told to stop making dirty jokes or NSFW references.

Thank you so much!!!! Hahaha poor Kazuma, he was dying this chapter.

Another Pale Fire, new chapter ask(s). I’m torn on which Trash Dad-Hiyori kiss, the canon one or your AU, is the more repulsive. I can’t decide if centuries-old sorcerer or slimy professor is the worse/creepier option. Either way, The EW FUCK NO line has been fully crossed. Also I loved Yato’s WHAT when Yukine admits he let Nora borrow his jacket, and Yato gets walloped by the implications. (I’ll love to see the canon-verse responses to the Jacket thing, especially if Yuki comes home with Nora.)

Haha thank you! He’s just a gross man with a plot and a purpose to everything he does.  Yato is going to be very stressed about Yukine dating lol.

Pale Fire fanfic stuff, since I’d rather use an ask than Ao3’s comment page. Good job making Trash Dad as slimy and repulsive in your AU as he is in canon, in terms of crossing the EW FUCK NO threshold. I loved Nora’s attempts to bond with Yukine in some way, despite not quite doing so in a healthy way. I mostly mean Nora offering booze. Actually reminds me of your TG fanfic, the RE Academy oneshot involving shroom tea. Likewise an unhealthy attempt to make friends by offering something “taboo”

Thank you so much!!! I’m glad you like it. Trash Dad needs to go down.

Conflicted/Rebellious Nora thoughts. I honestly think the “thrown away” thing is legit, and she will almost certainly resent Fujisaki. It’ll be kind of like Yato used to be – Nora will cover for “Father” but be MUCH less willing to actually do as he says. I also think she’ll end up being important to saving Yukine from Trash Dad’s control.

Yuuuup. That’s what I think too–that this is key for her starting to resent him, and doubt that he cares for her in the way she wants to be cared for… since Yukine certainly does care for her that way, showing her kindness in the face of her rudeness. Whether she’s in on it or not there are definitely seeds of potential doubt being planted in this chapter.

While I fully expect him to try to convince Nora that he didn’t mean it and still wants her by his side (he does but not in good ways), I think him ditching her “for real” so to speak would be an interesting turning point. Fujisaki discarding Nora and taking Yukine as his shinki, would be kind of a “nightmare made real” scenario for both Yuki and Nora: His fear is becoming like her negatively – Yukine would need a second name, he’d literally be a nora. Nora fears being abandoned, “thrown away”.

Yup, that’s why I prefer him to have actually thrown her away as I think that’s the more interesting thematic option. And yeah, that’s 100% what I expect from Fujisaki eventually if she really does think it’s real.

Noragami ships ask, because your thoughts are usually on point. What would you say Yatori, Yukinora and Kazubisha each need to do in the immediate future? As in what are the next step(s) for each ship? I know they all struggle to communicate, but the situation is a bit different for each.

I think they all have similar issues, and they all need to respect the other one’s choices (and see them and themselves as a person, cough Nora you’re not a tool cough) and that risks are inherent in relationships. Just because someone dies as well doesn’t mean that connection is over or meaningless *looks to Fujisaki who is apparently motivated by the death of a woman he loved* so even if the worst happens, it doesn’t mean it was pointless. Risk is part of connection (part Fujisaki wants to smother in his control of Yato and Nora which ironically just means he’s harming them) and harm is inevitable.

For specifics I find it very hard to predict and really can’t at this point, but we will see. Those are the thematic character moments I think everyone needs to do in the future. For Yukinora though if there’s any future Nora definitely needs to start to break from Father in a way, be it because he’s actually cast her away and/or thinking on her own.

You know what I’m glad hasn’t happened yet because Hiyori’s family will probably freak out a little? Hiyori’s family can sense the “other side”. Granny can sense accurately enough to almost nail Yato and Yukine with an arrow even though she can’t see them. Hiyori’s mom isn’t super sensitive to it, but was more so as a child. Hiyori and her brother can both fully see the “other side”. SO. I’m wondering, when will her family see Hiyori’s spirit form?

I WANT THIS SO BADLY

Something I REALLY hope won’t happen, but it probably will for the sake of drama. When Dungpile Dad tries to take Yukine with him, I really, REALLY hope Yato will not blame NORA – especially if Nora’s not in on this one (I don’t really think so but maybe). Unfortunately, Yato is also a murder-child, and worse yet, Yato and Nora usually lash out at each other. Because if something pushes Nora towards Father again, making her regress, Yato blowing up at her over missing Yukine might do it.

Yeah haha, I 100% would not be surprised if something like this happens. The good thing though again ties back to the theme of connection: connections between people are not easily severed because your actions always can affect someone even if you unname them and throw them away.

Redemption arcs, if Nora does get one and I really hope she does, usually involve a moment of realization and then regression (think Zuko at the end of the second season of Avatar: he realizes he’s been wrong, experiences Katara’s kindness and mercy, and still in the end chooses to go with his abusive family. However, the lessons his uncle and Katara offered him stick with him, haunting him in season 3 until he eventually breaks from his abusive family and redeems himself).

So whether she’s in on this or not, I think Yukine’s kindness (and not casting her away even though she’s lashing out at him) will not be something she can easily dismiss. Like look how desperate she is to serve Yato, probably the only person who truly loved her, again, and to please Father who at least has reliably cared for her (though not emotionally, the asshole).

If Father cast her away, I 100% do expect him to offer her a chance to come back (like “lol you didn’t really think I meant it did you Mizuchi? Now that I have Yukine come with me!”) or if not, he probably offered this to her as an option for not casting her away. I wouldn’t be surprised if she goes back with him/sticks with him for a bit only to realize that she has what she really wants elsewhere and decides to redeem herself.
