2 days left to end Hiatus x Hiatus AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I’m gonna die before I even see the chapter from the anticipation. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! Sorry I’m just too excited AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR SCREAMING ABOUT HXH WITH MEEEE I LOVE THIS SERIES TOO MUCH! So… I’m going to ramble? If that’s okay? *sobs*

The new volume cover already slayed me. ILLUMI AND KALLUTO. Finally. It’s been 20 years and now all my faves have been on volume covers.

I love Illumi so much. I hope we see him and I hope he reconsiders his life choices. I want Chrollo to suffer a lot and I want Tserriednich to go down ASAP. I hope Oito is still being Queen because she’s like the only good adult and mom in the series with an arc, and Hisoka, also, reconsider your life choices alongside your fiance, thank you. I also wanna see Morena be a great female antagonist, please interact with Chrollo and Illumi (I’m sure she will with Chrollo, but there’s potential with Illumi as well).

I’m excited and nervous, though I’m not worried about major characters. Just the minor ones that, in true Togashi style, I’ve gotten attached to already (namely the princes minus Woble & Oito, and Phantom Troupe members who aren’t named Zoldyck or Lucilfer). I’ve seen a lot of speculation that Kurapika, Chrollo, and Hisoka are going to die this arc, but I very much doubt it unless this does turn out to be the final arc, which I don’t think it is. Hisoka dying facing the Phantom Troupe would be dull because we’ve already seen that at the start of the arc and he’s got unfinished business with Gon, Kurapika should reunite with Gon and Killua, and Chrollo’s probably the most at risk but I also think he shouldn’t die if the series is eventually going to return to a dangling plot thread named Gyro who lives in Meteor City, where Chrollo is from (and where Killua’s mom is from). I’ve also seen Kalluto theorized as likely to die and I think it’s highly unlikely given his desire to find his brother being some serious set up for an arc of his own.

All that to say: if Machi Feitan or Phinks die, I die.

The Burnouts Ch 5- Hamliet – Hunter X Hunter [Archive of Our Own]

If Dabi is Touya, I think it would be interesting to talk about Rei. I think it would be pretty redundant to have all the siblings have the same opinion on the situation. Natsuo and Todoroki excuse her for what she did because of the mental trauma she endured for years. But what if because of the trauma, she started neglecting the children and became more isolated? What if Touya or Fuyumi had to rise up to the role and Touya has resentment towards her because of that?

Hm. I think the four siblings (presuming Dabi is Touya) all do have different approaches to dealing with the facts of the situation.

The facts are that Endeavor married Rei with the intention of breeding her for children and then cast away his first three in favor of the youngest, whom he physically abused, and he also physically abused Rei and she snapped eventually. However, Rei has forgiven, but does not currently want to see Endeavor. Fuyumi has forgiven and wants to reconcile. Natsuo does not want to forgive at all. Shouto wants to wait and see–he’s open to forgiving, but he isn’t there yet. Dabi/Touya not only doesn’t want to forgive, but he wants revenge.

All that to say, we already are seeing different opinions.

As for Rei, yes, it’s possible Touya might fault her in some way. Because it’s very complicated dealing with parents who are also abuse victims but who don’t do their job as a parent and protect you from an abusive parents. I know this personally. But I’d say from what we’ve seen, Rei did do the best she could, begging Endeavor to leave Shouto alone, and presumably since Fuyumi and Natsuo are close with her I suspect she was a good mom (as best she could be) towards Touya as well. Fuyumi absolutely loves her mother and doesn’t seem to have any resentment towards her, and Shouto forgave her, and Natsuo doesn’t blame her either. Storywise, I’d expect Dabi to likely have similar feelings–even if he does feel a bit of resentment, and he might, I am not sure whether he would be very angry with her, because she’s a victim as well.

I said dabi didn’t appear in the internship arc before right? i meant that he didn’t interact with eri who was abused the same could be said with the league of villians too, though eri suffered under horrific torture from kai I find it odd they don’t sympathize with her situation another theory they haven’t met eri just heard from her from overhaul. i think its been established the begining the overhaul and the league of villians wouldn’t get along since kai is an abuser LOV abuse victims.

then again every time dabi meets someone its impactful like in the
internship arc near the end. he confronts snatch who snatch in turn asks
“do you ever think how their familys would feel?” which in turn later
come up when dabi thinks about it and what about shoto? the interaction
that kick started the dabi is a todoroki theory brief as they are they
have signifigance on dabis character shoto recognizes dabi on television
and dabi remembers snatchs words. these meets mean something

Ah, thank you for expounding! I agree that every time Dabi does something it’s impactful–if it isn’t, it shouldn’t be in the story, but Dabi’s arc is particularly tightly written imo.

That’s a great point about Eri. I’ve always seen her as a foil of Shigaraki, in that both of them are grandchild of an important person, somewhat unstable individuals who accidentally cause the deaths of their fathers and then are taken by men who exploit and abuse them for their quirks. But she can also be seen as a foil for Dabi (presuming Dabi is Todoroki Touya) in that she’s used by a paternal figure for her quirk.

That being said, Himiko refers to the desire to get a hold of her, though it clearly was not a priority:

Then again, who knows if they would have treated her the same way Overhaul did–it’s possible they’d have been more… AFO about it, in that it’s kind of parental but less overtly abusive (it’s still abusive). I think that kinda hints that the cycle of abuse is definitely at risk of repeating–Dabi is becoming more like Endeavor, for one thing. But the LOV is becoming more and more like a family in some ways, albeit a very very dysfunctional one.

I agree that they wouldn’t get along with Overhaul. Shigaraki seemed to enjoy making him suffer.

come to think dabi didn’t appear once during the internship arc except in the begening and when they ransacked the cars with overhaul in it he was absent throught out the internship arc something tells me this plays an important part

Ooh! Do you have a theory? I’d love to hear it! I wonder if he was biding his time, waiting for a chance to strike at Endeavor… but if you have a better idea I’d love to hear all theories for my flame boy!

Do you see Shinji Ikari and Gon Freecs being parallels to each other? Both were abandoned at a young age by their fathers for some reason and both express the effects of that abandonment in different ways. How about Gendo and Ging?

I can see similarities, but I wouldn’t call two characters from different stories parallels per se, There are certainly similarities, though, in coping with abandonment. I think Gendo is framed far more cruelly than Gon is, though.
