I don’t know if this will be relevant, but in chapter 75 there was the “it may not be stylish, but live” scene and the 100 chapter theory seems to apply at times… I wonder if this could apply to Furuta too.
AHH yeah I’d bet on some kind of parallel–at least, Kaneki making the offer to Furuta to live. We will see whether he accepts it, though.

Jk I love you no matter what 😛 Acchan isn’t a huge fan of Gabi’s either, and I totally understand that Gabi’s a difficult character with her twisted perception of war. I really do get why people wouldn’t like her when the entire manga breaks down the ideals of war and then suddenly we’re like back to Beginning Eren and that same YEAH WAR perspective. That makes her not very likeable to longterm readers.
For me, I love her because she’s basically female Eren and I love Eren (second only to Armin) so I love Gabi haha. I also really like her thematic purpose. Plus, murder child! 😀 But again, Gabi’s kind of like Aura Shinsanpei I think… that’s the closest comparison I think in that I love them both very much but know lots of people don’t like them and I do understand why they aren’t terribly likeable characters.
And now, to dodge Gabi hate the next few months… I was already dodging hate so when I saw spoilers my first thought was “noooooooooo.”

Shinohara’s relationship with Juuzou inspires me. I mean yes the dude has flaws like encouraging Juuzou to kill, but how he loved Juuzou when no one else did, how he didn’t give up on him when others did… it gets me right in the feels man. I wish he’d been able to extend that empathy from a child who had no choice because he was raised that way to ghouls who had no choice because they were raised like that.
