MULAN

I’ve probably seen it. Oh. Idk. Almost a hundred times and I’m legitimately not exaggerating my parents would beg me to watch another movie instead of Mulan again but no, I watched Mulan again. I still watch it a lot. “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” is my “I need to go to work and I don’t want to” pump up song. It makes me cry, it gives me chills, and Shang is the best Disney love interest prince ever because he actually develops and if the live action really is cutting him I’ll cry. 

Also he is an awkward bean.

Shout out to other faves like The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Esmeralda is like, the best Disney character ever, and “God Help the Outcasts” is the deepest Disney son in existence.) Also Phoebus is great and so is Quasimodo.

Yes, I have read and do love the original novel, but this is basically like “canon divergent AU” wherein they actually get a happy ending and I’m not complaining. 

Also shout outs to Hercules, The Emperor’s New Groove (who can beat Yzma), Tangled, and Beauty and the Beast.

So i just watched mulan with my family again and aah its so beautiful i swear the similarities with mutsurie storyline xD like the arrogant leader falls in love with the clumsy boy who turns out to be a strong female in the end. (i still refer to mutsuki as male but still) Someone needs to make a mutsurie mulan au.

AHHHHH Anon Mulan is my FAVORITE Disney film! (Well, that and The Hunchback of Notre Dame). I’ve probably seen Mulan upwards of a hundred times and I was just listening to “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” on my way to work today (sometimes you just need it in the morning).

Pfft, Shang is even desperate to uphold his father’s legacy. Sound like Urie much? Mutsuki can have a traditionally female body but still want to live as a male. This totally isn’t um. Where my fantasy AU is going. it is.
