I think it’s pretty possible that Zeke is for Levi what RAB is for EMA. Both were born with powers who put them apart from the Others and even after becoming adults they maintained problems linked to flawed father figures. They are examples for other soldiers and bring hope to the allies (look at Porco’s or the other soldiers’ expressions when Zeke materialized this chapter) and despair to the enemies. they are also both trapped in roles they didn’t really want. Zeke was given his by his dad con

while Kenny challenged L’s one when they met (What are you? A hero?
Kenny says so multiple times questioning Levi and his last speech abt
being slaves to something for me underlines the fact Levi’s slave of the
fact that he’s the Walls hero, he must fulfill the role). Also in a
sense both built their identity over the failure of a father-figure.
Zeke became a warrior instead of a spy for Grisha as a way to rebel ags
his parents while according to Isayama (and it’s intuitive) Levi tried
to cont.

become stronger to impress Kenny only to be left behind. In both cases
being it for rebellion or for praise they ended up with a power they
didn’t know what to do abt. The parallelism it’s obv pretty vague
because at the end of the day we know too little abt Zeke’s objectives
and feelings, but they’re constantly paralleled. Even this chapter they
say 2 phrases which may mean the same but they received a different spin
(Survive and Kill them).

Yep. They do parallel each other, and it’s no coincidence Levi is the one who’s decided he will kill Zeke. Mikasa took down Annie, Armin ate Bertolt, and Eren hurt Reiner recently (no, I don’t think Reiner is dead).

In an interview Isayama said that Levi and Zeke are the same or equivalent in some way, but now that I remembered it, I can not understand what he meant by that and now there was this last chapter that ended with a scene of the two leading the two sides of the story in a battle(I will be lying if I said that this don’t made me remember Civil War of Marvel). Do you think that you could explain this thing of them being equal or equivalent?

Ooh! So I’d have to reread the interview but can’t find it currently, but I believe it was in reference to their ranking–like Levi was a powerful force in their military, a leader within the Survey Corps, but not the ultimate leader. I think that parallels Zeke because Zeke is the eldest and a leader among the Warriors, but still subordinate to the Marlayans.

Same anon, lol, I think Floch will stay with us for a while. He’s like Jean dark counterpart tbh and I think hir role is to enlighten the problematicy of the mentality the SC have been adopting up until now: pragmatism above personal relationship and dreams hence Levi’s choice to save Armin is wrong, Killing the enemies without hesitation and keep on fighting. This is the creed which let the SC keep going, but it’s a double edged sword and there’s the possibility it’ll be necessary to overcome c

it will be necessary to overcome it. Floch has been asked by Erwin to
sacrifice his personal future and once he did he couldn’t stand that
Levi didn’t ask the same to Erwin and let him go free. In a sense Floch
is a dark product of the SC’s way of thinking and it enlightens another
face of it. I think the answer Jean will give him will be pretty
important for his character arc. Abt Levi what do you think of his
character as a Whole? Do you like him? And his arc? Thanks!

Oooh that’s a good way of looking at his character!

I love Levi. He’s my favorite among the vets, and his arc is very poignant and tragic. It’s sad because killing the Beast Titan is not going to bring Erwin back, but if it is necessary Levi will do it, and I think he is not bloodthirsty enough to do it without it being necessary, so yeah.

About the new snk chapter, can the fact Levi has parts of his old design incorporated in his uniform and is the only one underline his role as a symbol of the past and may it be foreshadowing of his Death in this battle? I love him, but I think his chances of dying are pretty high considering there’s a new confrontation with the beast titan (and I don’t trust Zeke at all) which is the only major plot point left for him.

I don’t know about this battle, but I do believe Levi will ultimately take out the Beast Titan and then die, yes. :/ My hopes for the mentor figures in a series like SnK are very very very low (Hange is different, as Hange doesn’t mentor anyone directly).

fuku-shuu:

Had a slow day at work yesterday, so I scanned the two exclusive posters that came with the SnK Escape from Certain Death Nintendo 3DS game Treasure Box Edition (Thanks to @girwants for the reminder a while back)! Enjoy 🙂 I don’t believe either of these have been distributed online in high quality before.

Haven’t scanned anything for a while since I only have access to a scanner at the office, but will try to do more in the future!

Note: I tried to make the watermark unobtrusive, but if any editors would still like to work with completely non-watermarked versions of the images, please feel free to message/ask me and I’m happy to provide! 😀
