Fate/Zero yes! I have a tag for it here. I quite like it and think it’s excellently written with tighter writing than Unlimited Blade Works, but I still prefer UBW because the themes and arcs resonated more with me than Fate/Zero’s did (I am generally more inclined to like a hopeful story (and tragedies can be hopeful!) than a depressing one, but that’s just my personal taste). In fact, having seen UBW before Fate/Zero actually probably made me appreciate Fate/Zero more, because I knew the nihilism was leading somewhere beautiful.

Irisviel was my favorite character. 😛

Yep! I liked it very much–it was excellently done with great character arcs. But it was very dark and depressing lol. I think a lot of why I liked it was because I knew Fate/Stay Night was a lot more hopeful, and that darkness was not just for the sake of darkness but because it was setting the stage for a beautiful story filled with hope. I like tragic stories, but I don’t like “lol nihilism” which is what Fate/Zero might have seemed like to me if I hadn’t already seen Stay Night.
