Hey! Do you think Hisoka became stronger after dying? And if he did do you think he will make another ability? Personally I believe he got much stronger, because he was able to use Bungee Gum and Texture Surprise to recreate limbs and missing parts which he wasn’t able before. Also who do you think will finish Chrollo? Kurapika or Hisoka?

Hey hey! Oooh good question! I do think he’s stronger but I don’t know how much stronger.

Honestly, I feel like both are possible, as is neither of them. At the moment I’m not sure what looks most likely but so if you’ll indulge some speculation?

Thanks to HxH’s love of anticlimax, it genuinely might be neither of them. Even if it is either Kurapika or Hisoka, I do expect some anticlimax (meaning I don’t expect a triumphant fight) involved.

If Kurapika kills Chrollo, I honestly think that’s the end for Kurapika because Chrollo is his shadow and you don’t kill your shadow without killing yourself; you integrate with it. (All I’d expect from that is a moment wherein they have an understanding of each other, but it’s hard to kill someone you understand though not impossible—perhaps after Hisoka offs most of the Spiders leaving Chrollo alone like Kurapika.) I really don’t want Kurapika’s story to end with him losing himself to vengeance (plus we already kinda saw that with Gon and Pitou) so I’m biased. Kurapika is definitely spiraling right now, but we saw Gon spiral in the CA Arc so I still have some hope for Kurapika to pull himself out of this spiral even if he doesn’t survive the ending.

So of the two, I think Hisoka is far more likely. That being said, what makes me hesitate about Hisoka is that we’ve already seen an epic fight between them so I wouldn’t expect an encore but if Hisoka kills him there’s no way it isn’t drawn out… unless Chrollo has already given up and doesn’t care anymore which is, well, looking entirely possible. I do think Hisoka or the general chaos on that boat will finish most of the spiders save Kalluto and Illumi (Bolonenov, Franklin, and Shizuku are the three I’m most immediately worried for–the other four I think have plot armor. A major theme of both Yorknew and this current arc is choosing between personal and ideological loyalty, with Machi and Nobunaga leaning towards the former and Feitan and Phinks more the latter. I expect this theme to resurface which is why I thiiiink those four have a bit longer to go in this arc). And I also think Chrollo refusing to fight Hisoka so Hisoka gets nothing from killing him would be fitting for both their characters.

Thank you for the ask! I love talking HxH.

Hi, What do you think of Chrollo vs Hisoka? I reread the fight and I really like it, one of the best fights I have ever read. Now, I do think that Hisoka and Chrollo are evenly matched even if Chrollo’s win was clear, my point is that Hisoka gave Chrollo all the advantage by giving him preparation time and pick time and place, and Hisoka mentions it. I believe that if they fought back in the desert in Yorknew (giving Chrollo his Nen) Hisoka would’ve won. Also Hisoka seems more powerfulafterdeath

I love that fight. And yet this was footage of me when reading it:

I was like
“Neither of you can narratively die so how are we getting out of this
one Togashi.” -__-

But it’s an excellent fight thematically, and pivotal for both Chrollo and Hisoka’s arcs. For Hisoka it parallels Gon’s sacrificing his future to destroy Pitou, but Hisoka seems just even more ingrained on his destructive path afterwards, and Chrollo’s now finding himself in ironically the same position Kurapika’s been in before: he’s losing his “family” and thereby his legacy, because Chrollo has no idea of whom he is besides the people around him (like Kurapika associates his identity with being a Kurta instead of wondering who he wants to be). Like, Chrollo, this is what you’ve been doing to people all along how do you like it?

As for the advantage, without Chrollo relying on his Troupe and their powers, I agree with you that I give Hisoka the advantage. And I think Hisoka knows this and Chrollo does as well, and that’s why he’s going after Chrollo’s friends.

I would also state that Chrollo using the entire stadium full of people as weapons was horrific, and it was supposed to be, to show us just how far these two will go to prove that they deserve to matter, that they were strong for Hisoka and that they have a legacy in Chrollo. Also, it again reinforces how for Chrollo both enjoys watching humanity from afar as seen in how he admires Hisoka for still insisting on fighting even when he knows he will lose, but needs people for his own abilities. It’s this distance that he’s trying to keep up that literally also destroys lots of people, and now it’s destroying him as well by destroying the few people he cares for.
