Saiko does say she loves Mutsuki. She creates great nicknames for him like Mutsuko and Mucchan and Mucchy. Saiko’s nickname game is on point.
Saiko also says she’ll be everyone’s bride. She says she loves Urie, Hsiao clearly has a crush on her, Shirazu and Saiko definitely had sparks, Higemaru may have a crush on her as @mamasaiko has theorized… hell the only Quinx I’ve never seen people ship her with is Aura.

In all honesty, I don’t expect something like this to happen, but I do think a “you couldn’t protect her!” parallel from Yomo to Arata with Ayato to Kaneki could likely happen. I don’t think Hina-chan will die though she’ll probably be badly injured and unable to protect anyone again, and as much as I hope and pray Yomo lives, I don’t think things are looking good for him. I hope I eat my words on that and Yomo manages to escape before Mutsuki and probably Aura frame out, or Uta arrives to help his boyfriend, but idk, I’m feeling kinda pessimistic about his chances here.

Ayato would be a mess. A sobbing mess. And then he’d be a pissed off mess. And it would be the return of Edgelord Ayato, back from the grave to steal the Edgelord crown off of Aura’s reattached head. Things would Not Go Well for Juuzou. Oh god I can’t even think about that
Hinami (so many people have tried to save her so far in this story that it’d be strange to kill her now)
Mutsuki (Shirazu’s revival is plot armor, he likely has to meet Kaneki again, and this chapter really reinforced that he’s out of his mind)
Juuzou (Shinohara is plot armor for him)
Ui (he needs to find out about the Garden, and Hairu is plot armor)
Ayato (if he shows up anyways; they’ve already taken so many loved ones of Hinami’s and given Kaneki’s rapid aging she might lose even more, so I feel like you can’t kill Ayato unless Hinami dies first–regardless of whether you read their affection for one another as romantic or platonic, he clearly means a lot to her)
Characters I’m mildly concerned about dying here:
Hirako (he doesn’t have any real death flags but he doesn’t have very much plot armor either)
Aura (if Mutsuki wins against Yomo I would expect it to come with a cost)
Hajime (but I feel like he has more to do in the plot and might impact Amon’s arc)
Touken baby (I mean she has been stabbed, but not in her stomach, and I think a lot of the foreshadowing plus Yomo telling her to protect “something else” indicates the baby may well survive)
Characters I’m biting my nails over:
Shio, Yusa, Rikai (really only one of them–I don’t think they’ll all die–but not sure which one)
Yomo (that panel when he told Touka to run and she remembered his line about living while people die is a high death flag and I just hope he makes it because I love him; if he could capture Mutsuki like @mercyandmagic was speculating when we were texting this morning, that would be great)
Wait… Hirako has plot armor, it has four legs and lives with his grandparents.
Never mind asking when Ayato or Eto et al may reappear: the true question is when Hirako’s pupper will return.
If Shirazu is going to be revived, and if he’s going to be on the next volume cover as people have theorized to complete the four wise monkeys symbolism, it would make sense for him to appear in the ongoing volume.
Volume 10…
…ends with chapter 110, in which Urie’s completely framed out and is left begging for someone to save him (thank you Saiko for answering that call please go save Mucchy now.)
Volume 11…
…ends with chapter 122, in which Mutsuki appears at :re and then burns everything to the ground.
Volume 12…
…ends with chapter 132, in which Saiko (who had otherwise barely appeared in that volume at all) confronts Urie about the wrongdoings of the CCG and sparks his confrontation with Furuta someone save him again please.
Hence I’m wondering whether, if Shirazu is truly going to appear on the next volume cover, he might appear in the last chapter of the volume. Given how many chapters tend to be in a volume, I wonder if Ishida will end volume 13 with chapter 143, which was, of course, the number of chapters in the original TG.
I’m probably overthinking things, and of course chapters in :re don’t automatically correlate to ones from the original TG, but it’s something I think is possible.
