It’s my OTP! Haha it’s my favorite SnK pairing. I’m not expecting canon romance really, but Isayama definitely teased it in recent chapters, and I do expect Annie to get out of the crystal and her most important relationship in terms of interaction thereafter likely to be with Armin based on the set up, but you never know. I wrote this awhile ago!
Eremika, Yumikuri, and Aruani are my favorites!!! Of these, Yumikuri is canon, and I have written quite a bit about what I expect for Eremika–an acknowledgement is likely, a happy ending is definitely not happening. Aruani is probably my actual very favorite, followed by Yumikuri, then Eremika. But Aruani is not very likely to have any canon acknowledgement beyond some teasing as has happened in recent chapters–but ya never know 😉
Reibert, Marlowe/Hitch, and Galco are also ships I really love, and if Falco survives, and I still am hopeful he will, I think Galco’s chances of canonicity and a happy ending are really good.
For non-canon ships I also enjoy seeing art, etc, from Jeanmarco, Springles, Pieck/Porco, Petruo, LeviHan, Mikenana, etc. But I’m not very invested in any of these.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Annie were to come out from her crystal after Armin manages to successfully exchange memories and feelings with her. If this happens, then Annie’s crystal will be broken in a way opposite to the one Eren used to destroy Miss Tybur’s.
In this way we will have two opposite approaches on how to overcome a person’s physical, but also emotional defenses (after all, Annie enclosing herself into a crystal is symbolic of her coping mechanism which is to isolate herself).
I think it would be a nice parallel and would underline once more the different POVs Eren and Armin have and which will create conflict between them.
If Annie doesn’t get out of that crystal I’m going to personally mail myself to Isayama so we can talk.
Yes, I do think she will. I gotta think she will. And soon…ish. Because we’ve had numerous callbacks to Annie lately, from her father’s conversation with Karina and his professed faith in her, to Armin asking her to please come out. Logically it should be building somewhere.
Honestly, while the SC has more titan serums, they need the jaw titan to break through Annie’s crystal–unless the War Hammer Titan’s abilities allow Eren to do just that which is possible. But I still really do not see Annie being eaten and will bitch incessantly if it does happen, though I can see a plan for that formulating.
What I think would happen is Annie would want to see her father again, and I think there is one person who might be willing to help her because going to Marlay to negotiate would also work for his goals of ending the conflict: Armin. Look, my shipping feelings aside and again I’ll say I don’t have canon expectations, but it’s clear Isayama wants us to be focusing on that dynamic as of 106. I can see Armin and Annie working out a deal wherein if she helps him get to Marlay and negotiate he’ll help her see her father. But we will see.
No worries!!! So I would say my two favorites are the dynamics between Armin and Annie for reasons I outline here (I do ship them, but I also love their dynamic in general and am excited to see more of it, as it seems we may well get more of it though I doubt it’ll be explictly romantic) and Eren and Levi (whom I DO NOT ship romantically; it’s fine if people do but it’s a NOTP of mine romantically.)
I’m not over the face Levi gives Eren in 105, like a father who has just seen his child ruin his life, and who knows the pain and repercussions of what Eren has done personally (being raised by a serial killer for a bit, after all).
I see Eren and Levi’s relationship as paternal in a sense (Levi and Hange are like. Eren’s distraught parents at this point) and specifically it’s a mentor one. I know a lot of people think serum bowl damaged their relationship, but I actually don’t see any evidence it did. Levi sees himself in Eren: he always has, and for those reasons he’s shown Eren nothing but compassion and understanding since then. But it’s precisely because he understands that Levi also knows just how wrong the path Eren has tread is, and how harmful it is not just to the world and to innocents but to Eren himself, whom I do think Levi loves like family (I’d say he loves the entire 104th, not that he’d be happy to show it–Levi has always been motivated by the people he loves, much like Eren).
Levi’s dislike of Zeke is definitely related to Erwin but probably also to Eren, as Zeke and Levi are foils and instead of listening to Levi, Eren is listening to Zeke because he didn’t like his substitute dad’s advice (granted if it was along the lines of the SC’s plan with Historia I get why, though I think it’s complicated). In the end, I think Eren and Levi’s mentoring relationship will be crucial to saving Paradis, though how that will play out I don’t know yet because so much information is missing.
