Disaster princess indeed!!!!! I love him. I’m so glad you think I’m writing him well! And thank you so much for being so kind! The fic is so, so much fun to write, and I kind of don’t want to stop writing it so I’m wondering if I’ll keep it going a bit… lol. 

I agree Yut-Lung really does just want (and needs) to be loved, but like Eiji told him, he doesn’t understand love in any way because of his upbringing and it absolutely breaks my heart.

Like, as my friend @aspoonofsugar pointed out to me in a discussion about these beloved idiots that are the cast of Banana Fish, even in that scene where Eiji refuses to kill Yut-Lung he yells that Yut-Lung will never understand (presumably his and Ash’s love) and runs away… when Yut-Lung walks off, it’s in Eiji’s direction, because he can’t stop his fixations on both Ash (on whom he projects what he thinks he should be) and what he wants and wants to be (Eiji, whom he’s actually quite similar to in a lot of ways, which Shorter even points out)… but Sing is the one he’s walking away from, and the one who eventually runs after him. 

Anyways. Someone please see that he is a hurting sixteen year old child and give him a hug. He needs it.
